CHARACTER INFO
Name: Ammond Raidie
Gender: Female
Source: Homestuck OC
Canon point: A little less than half a sweep before she's due for conscription.
Age: Just barely 8 sweeps / a little more than 17 years
Colour: #a48b00
Chumhandle: psychesLantern

History: Ammond had a fairly typical upbringing as a lowblooded troll on Alternia; she fought through the brooding cavern trials as a grub, pupated, settled down in a modest hive in a moderately densely populated hivecluster with her lusus, a hornet the size of a small child. Over the next several sweeps she killed a few other kids in fights or defending her hive and developed a fairly extensive network of friends, aquaintances, and enemies, mostly weighted toward the low end of the hemospectrum.
As a moderately competent psionic herself, Ammond has always had a somewhat morbid interest in the applications to which such powers are put in the Empire, specifically the practice of using psionic helmsmen to power ships. Over the past sweep or so, this interest has escalated to a full-blown obsession, and Ammond has effectively pushed away most of her friends, including her on-again off-again kismesis, as she weighs the equally grim possibilities of allowing herself to be used as an engine or attempting to defect and survive as a disenfranchised adult on Alternia.
Personality: Ammond is flippant, confrontational, and a little moody. She likes to test boundaries, often initially coming across as very aggressive and irreverent and then mellowing as she becomes more comfortable around a person and gets a feel for where she stands. Although she talks a big game, she is actually fairly conscious of the hemospectrum, and tends to be a lot jumpier around highbloods. She also has some fairly complex self-esteem issues relating to her caste and abilities; Ammond hates to feel used but is terrified by feeling useless, and when upset or down can easily slip into objectifying herself.
Abilities & physical limitations: Ammond has telekinetic powers comparable to the canonical yellowblooded trolls, but of a notably lower degree of power; she can and does casually lift and move physical objects with her telekinesis and can levitate herself for limited periods of time. She very rarely displays any sort of "light show" effect, but occasionally when under extreme pressure or exerting a greater than usual amount of energy on telekinesis may show white sparks. Pure energy-beam type attacks are beyond her ability to safely produce under her own power, although she'd probably be capable of such under the influence of a stimulant like mind honey.
Appearance: Fairly typical for a troll - humanoid, grey skin, black hair, horned, etc. Ammond is tall, but not exceptionally, for a troll of her age at 5'9", with a scrawny, bony build. She wears her hair cropped very close to her head, and typically wears a piece of yellow cloth tied around the base of her right horn to disguise a small chip in it. Otherwise, her horns are symmetrical: very straight and almost cylindrical for most of their lengths, with sharply tapering tips. Her clothing tends to be simple, a black tank-top with her sign in yellow on the front and dark skinny jeans, and she has a number of piercings: three in her right ear, two in her left, and a barbell through the bridge of her nose. Her eyes, like most trolls', have bright yellow sclerae and her irises, though still mostly grey, are just beginning to be tinted with her yellow blood pigmentation.
Notable AU differences from canon, if applicable: None particularly, except you know, the fact that she exists and has not yet been hit in the head by a meteor or slaughtered in the Vast Glub, as she would have in the canon timeline, nor joined any revolutionary groups as she would go on to do in the Miracle Child AU.

Strife Specibus: Blowgunkind. She totally cheats with her psionics, though.
Prototyping: Hornet lusus
Title: Gear of Choice
In-game abilities: Gear is a passive class, best described as "one who facilitates x or gives others access to x." The Choice aspect governs situations where a thinking being may decide between two or more options - not random chance, but conscious choice. Taken together, the Gear of Choice gains the ability to make possible choices for the group more evident. At low levels, this manifests in the form of making her very good at seeing and making others aware of alternate choices; at higher levels, it can develop into subtle probability manipulation to find courses of action that may not have otherwise been present.
At no point does it give her any supernatural insight on which are the best or most productive choices. She'll have to rely on her own natural good sense, or lack therof, for that.
Planet: Land of Decay and Growth: A temperate Land, consisting mainly of rolling grasslands and open woodlands. The landscape is dotted with defunct, half-buried machinery of enormous size, ranging from isolated cogs and pistons to apparently complete devices of indeterminate purpose. Closer examination finds that these machines are carved from a variety of kinds of wood and stone, and the trees are formed of cast metal with leaves of foil and rust. The consorts, a race of pink lizards, worship the broken machines as holy relics, and claim that they did wondrous (and quite frankly, unbelievable) things before the Denizen, Gremlin, arrived and disabled and dismantled them.
